Terms of Use

Effective: 11 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and us about how you may use the FiftyStrong app and this website. Please read them before you subscribe.

1. The service

By downloading, installing or using the app, or by subscribing on this website, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service. FiftyStrong is operated by Eugene Chan, sole proprietor, Hong Kong SAR.

1.1 What you get

FiftyStrong is a twelve-week strength and mobility programme for people in their forties, fifties and beyond. A subscription gives you:

  • A programme built from your movement quiz, a session at a time
  • Video instruction and voice guidance for every movement
  • A plan that rebuilds every four weeks around your check-ins, and movement re-tests at week twelve
  • Your own record of what you did

We may add, change or retire features. We will not materially reduce what a paid subscription gives you during a period you have already paid for.

1.2 How you may use it

  • Personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use FiftyStrong to instruct, coach or train other people, whether or not you charge for it.
  • One account per person. Your sign-in link and your account are yours; do not share them.
  • Do not use the service unlawfully, do not attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer it, and do not scrape or bulk-download the content.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account.

1.3 Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use FiftyStrong.

2. Content and intellectual property

2.1 What you may do with it

Everything in FiftyStrong — the programme design, the videos, the audio, the text, the software, the name and the marks — belongs to us or to our licensors and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. Your subscription is a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to stream and use the content for your own training while your subscription is active. It is not a sale.

You may not copy, download (other than as the app does for offline playback), redistribute, publicly perform, screen-record, republish or make derivative works from any of it.

2.2 What belongs to you

Your quiz answers, your check-ins and your notes remain yours. You give us the licence we need to store them, build your programme from them, and show them back to you. We use them as set out in the Privacy Policy.

2.3 Infringement

If you believe something in FiftyStrong infringes your rights, write to support@fiftystrong.app with the details and we will act on it.

3. Privacy

What we collect and why is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

4. Health, and the limits of what we can promise

4.1 This is not medical advice

FiftyStrong is fitness instruction, not healthcare. Nothing in the app or on this website is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and we are not your physician, physiotherapist or clinician. The quiz asks about pain, stiffness and menopause so the programme can work around them — it does not assess, diagnose or treat any condition.

Talk to a doctor before you start, and especially if you are pregnant or recently post-partum, recovering from surgery or injury, living with heart, joint, bone-density or blood-pressure conditions, or taking medication that affects your balance, heart rate or blood pressure.

Stop and seek medical help if you feel chest pain, dizziness, faintness, shortness of breath beyond normal exertion, or sharp joint pain.

Exercise carries a risk of injury. You take part voluntarily and at your own risk, and you are responsible for judging what is safe for your body on any given day. Where a movement offers an easier option, take it.

4.2 The service as it is

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that a particular result will follow from following the programme, that the content is complete or suitable for your circumstances, or that it will work with every device and network. Results differ from person to person; anything we show about outcomes is illustrative, not a promise.

4.3 Third-party links and services

The service relies on third parties — the App Store, Stripe, sign-in providers — and may link to material we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their terms.

5. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

FiftyStrong can be bought in two places, and the rules differ. Which one applies depends on where you subscribed.

5.1 In the app (Apple In-App Purchase)

  • Plans are twelve-week and monthly auto-renewing subscriptions, with or without a free first week. The price, the period and any free week are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free week if you took one.
  • It renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Renewal is charged within 24 hours of the period ending.
  • Cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. We cannot cancel an App Store subscription for you. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the period you have paid for runs out.
  • A free week is once per person. If you have already used one, you will be charged immediately.
  • Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, under Apple’s policy, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them.
  • Your purchase is also governed by Apple’s Media Services terms.

5.2 On this website (Stripe)

  • The plan, price and billing period are shown at checkout before you pay.
  • It renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel from the billing link in your receipt, or email us, and we will stop the next renewal; you keep access to the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds: write to us within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it in full, no reason needed. After that we look at it case by case. Statutory rights where you live are unaffected.

5.3 What applies to both

  • Prices are shown in your local currency where we support it and include tax where we are required to charge it. We may change prices; a change never affects a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before a renewal at a new price.
  • A subscription bought in one place cannot be moved to the other. An App Store subscription cannot be managed, refunded or transferred by us, and a website subscription cannot be managed through Apple. Do not buy both.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel first, then delete.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose and USD 100.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limits; where that is so, they apply to you only as far as the law allows.

7. Suspension and termination

You may stop using FiftyStrong at any time and delete your account from Account → Delete account in the app.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your use puts other people or the service at risk, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you first. If we end your access for a reason that is not your breach, we will refund the unused part of the period you have paid for.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not, stop using the service and cancel.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the courts of Hong Kong SAR have exclusive jurisdiction — except where the law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim locally, which these terms do not take away.
